Joanna Henwood is a professional opera singer and classical-crossover artist based in the West London / Berkshire / M4 Corridor area.

Joanna grew up in Devon. She sings for a variety of private and corporate functions & events, as well as performing in theatrical productions.

Fluent in French and German with a good command of Italian, Joanna has a passion for grand opera and performs many of the best known arias in recitals, concerts and at events.

A mezzo~soprano, with a vocal range spanning three octaves, Joanna is a versatile and sought-after performer, offering opera for all occasions.

Joanna’s repertoire comprises opera, sacred music and musicals, including classical versions of popular ballads.

She receives ongoing professional vocal-coaching to supervise the development of her voice.

 Joanna recently appeared in Gilbert & Sullivan’s operetta Iolanthe at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts, Maidenhead, playing the part of Celia.  Woe betide any peer who complains of fairies interfering in politics! A patriotic yet disingenuous extravaganza, produced by David Thomas with rousing music, expertly conducted by Jonathan Bungard as Musical Director.

 Joanna made her début with Windsor & Eton Operatic Society in October 2008 in one of Gilbert and Sullivan’s best-loved operettas, The Pirates of Penzance at the Farrer Theatre, Eton College, playing the part of Kate. Produced by G&S veteran Ian Henderson with Jonathan Bungard as Musical Director.
